It really hasn’t taken John Oliver much time to transition from heir apparent at The Daily Show to the one of the most provocative and passionate late night hosts around. On a weekly basis, on Last Week Tonight, he has made an art form out of calling out oblivious parties and corporations on their much-publicized drivel.
Last Sunday, he took the same enthused outraged that he used on the likes of the FCC and FIFA to highlight the absurdity of Dan Snyder and his Washington football team’s unwillingness to change their name. Oliver reminded audiences of a Native American tribe who ran an ad against the name during the NBA Finals and even contributed to the cause with his own anti-R-word campaign video:
