FILA USA is proud to announce a special edition M-Squad in honor of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon’s upcoming feature film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The 90’s street-ball model-turned NBA on-court sneaker receives a brand-new lifestyle color mock-up.
The shoe’s detailing is top to bottom Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and ties directly back to art from the film. It includes a green tumble leather upper with a matching perforated tongue; a marbleized camo color midsole; and an allover camo printed collar, back tongue and foot bed. In addition, the iconic “M” appears in a bright orange overlay. Finally, the limited-edition packaging features a custom box top with the film’s logo, an intricate brick-patterned tissue paper and a neon ooze green lined interior.
Louis W. Colon III, FILA USA’s Director of Heritage and Lifestyle, reflects on the curation of the shoe: “In preparation for designing this project, we went into the FILA footwear archives to select a model we thought represented Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The M-Squad was the perfect match,” explains Colon.
This pairing of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the FILA brand is not the first time the brands have collaborated.. They came together for two limited-edition releases of the FX-100 and Cage models in 2013, which saw an instant sell-through and became an overnight success.
