Today we’re looking at “Galentine’s Day” from Parks and Recreation. Let’s take a look at this episode by going over its five most romantic pairings.

1. April & Andy

Seeing how sincere and earnest Andy is makes April re-examine her current relationship. She even starts to change her outlook on life. She used to love irony just as much as anyone, but she’s inspired to, rather than make fun of people, sincerely tell them, “You guys are really adorable. It’s really nice.” She breaks up with her boyfriend Derek (and his boyfriend Ben) and happily watches Andy do a show. He dedicates the song “The Way You Look Tonight” to her.

2. Derek & Ben

They may not be right for April, but they’re definitely right for each other. They spend this episode adorably making fun of everyone.

3. Ann & Mark

Leslie is not wrong when she tells these two, “Jury’s still out on you guys.” But, they’re not bad in this episode. Mark showers Ann with gifts. Ann gets him things humans should have like towels and toothpaste. It’s good they have each other.

4. Leslie & Justin

Justin ends up being a jerk in this episode and Leslie breaks up with him. But, their one last adventure with each other has its moments.

5. Marlene & Frank

In the beginning of the episode, Marlene tells “the most romantic story of all time” about her first love. Leslie’s boyfriend Justin tracks Frank down so they can be reunited. He’s disappointing and it’s definitely not the reunion of soulmates that Leslie was hoping for. But Marlene will always have the romantic story of her first real relationship. And at least he’s not a ventriloquist, a puppeteer or anyone who pretends toys are people.

We’re counting down to Valentine’s Day by looking at 14 different Valentine’s Day episodes from a variety of shows.
