Let\u2019s discuss some lesser known trivia about the film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trivia #1<\/strong><br \/>\nCarlos Gallardo, who played the title character in <em>El Mariachi<\/em>, appears in the film as Campa, a friend\u00a0to the\u00a0Banderas character. Filmmakers had to reshoot the final scene from <em>El Mariachi<\/em> to include Banderas as to act as a flashback sequence in <em>Desperado<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trivia #2<\/strong><br \/>\nAntonio Banderas performed all of the guitar work himself; this includes the song, <em>Cancion Del Mariachi<\/em>, during the opening sequence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trivia #3<\/strong><br \/>\nThe film\u2019s title was originally titled <em>El Pistolero<\/em> (The Gunman) to be consistent with the first film, <em>El Mariachi<\/em>; however, the title was changed at the behest of the studio. In Mexico, the film was released as <em>Pistolero<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trivia #4<\/strong><br \/>\nJennifer Lopez auditioned for the role of Carolina.
