This is an\u00a0outstanding issue in every regard and one that should not be missed by anyone reading Valiant.<\/p>\n<p>Effectively, the tale connects the decades-old Vine Planting Liberation Army\u00a0against Toyo Harada\u00a0to the present, when the daughter of a founding member finds herself close to both Harada and the ultimate vine weapon.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s what happens between these two points, though, that makes this dense book shine. The connections are both deep and numerous. Each one flawlessly adds a thread to the tapestry of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-C_TORRE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7354\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-C_TORRE-195x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMPERIUM_010_COVER-C_TORRE\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-C_TORRE-195x300.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-C_TORRE-666x1024.jpg 666w, https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-C_TORRE.jpg 780w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 195px) 100vw, 195px\" \/><\/a>Valiant Universe, connecting dots hardcore fans will be pleased to know existed.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua Dysart plays wonderfully within the sandbox of The Vine established mostly by Robert Venditti in X-O Manowar. Just one noteworthy moment is equal parts horrifying and fascinating as a Vine Planting transmits his final moments alive through the Vine&#8217;s conscious collective while Harada experiments on his brain.<\/p>\n<p>Art duties are split between Cafu and Juan Jose Ryp, illustrating the current day and 1960s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-A_RYP.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-A_RYP-195x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMPERIUM_010_COVER-A_RYP\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-A_RYP-195x300.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-A_RYP-666x1024.jpg 666w, https:\/\/www.hardwoodandhollywood.com\/pop-culture-spin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/11\/IMPERIUM_010_COVER-A_RYP.jpg 780w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 195px) 100vw, 195px\" \/><\/a>portions of the story respectively. While it would have been nice to see more from Cafu, Ryp&#8217;s panels dominate most of the book, and it&#8217;s easy to consider him one of the best artists employed by Valiant.<\/p>\n<p>This series continues to delight. It is easily the most important book in the Valiant line, and this issue in particular adds invaluable connectivity to the universe.
