Derrick Rose: Wake Up commercial
Derrick Rose and adidas have “The Return” series on the internet happening and are three episodes deep right now. However, in the below video, adidas and D-Rose go the more conventional route with this ad about Rose’s eventual return to the NBA as its made for television. I imagine “Wake Up” is about letting people, particularly Chicago Bulls fans, know not to sleep on Derrick Rose returning. He’s going hard in rehab and looking to get back on an NBA court as soon as possible. Check the well-done commercial below:
I love the apocalyptic feel here in the beginning. The commercial is very artistic and should appeal to nihilists until you hear the sound of weights grinding and Rose grunting, building up to a crescendo of rhythmic slams and playful wink from Rose. I love this and I can’t wait for Rose to actually return despite not being a Bulls fan. However, I’m a basketball fan at heart and it’s hard not to root for D-Rose if you’re a basketball fan.
