Jason Momoa, aka Khal Drogo, to Play Aquaman

Jason Momoa, he of Game of Thrones fame, is trading in his Dothraki horse for … well … a seahorse.

HitFlix confirmed, after weeks of rumors, that the man who played Khal Drogo, feared warlord of the (extremely water-averse) nomadic horse-mounted warriors, will portray Aquaman in director Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Co-stars include recurring characters from Man of Steel: Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane; plus Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

As a result of the events of Man of Steel, Aquaman is pissed, which explains the casting, because Momoa spent a whole season of Games of Thrones looking pissed. Or horny. Or pissed and horny.

But the role isn’t a major one. It’s more of an introduction to the character, likely in advance of his own flick.

Momoa will be good. But can he be Vinny Chase-good?

Oh, definitely.
