Would Someone Please… NFL Edition

Would someone please tell the NFL that swearing is OK! New York Jets head coach, (I use that term loosely) Rex Ryan, was fined $100,000 for swearing by the league office. The fine was so large because Rex is a repeat offender of the rule. If you hear what most of the fans in the stands are saying, it makes Rex’s comments almost sound G-rated by comparison. It shouldn’t be encouraged, but players and coaches should be allowed to show their emotions. If not, then let’s just simulate games on Madden and watch that!

Would someone please remind Mark Sanchez that he’s playing on a good team! The thumping the Philadelphia Eagles took at the hands of the Green Bay Packers was laughable, in that Aaron Rodgers was actually laughing during the game. That does say a lot more about the defense than it does about the offense, however this isn’t a bad offense. This isn’t the New York “run heavy” Jets that Sanchez was a part of when he went to three AFC championship games. You have some weapons Mark, learn how to use them or Chip Kelly will replace you faster than Rex Ryan did.

Would someone please tell Eli Manning that his teammates are the ones in blue and white. I was at the game where Eli handed the San Francisco 49ers five (I can barely count it on one hand) interceptions. Eli, you’ve won two Super Bowls and two Super Bowl MVP’s. You’re better than this.

Would someone please tell the Cleveland Browns they are supposed to be bad. Currently the entire AFC North has records better than .500 and are all very much in the mix for the division crown. You could argue that the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens were expected to be in that position. Even the Steelers had a chance to compete, but no one saw this out of the Browns, especially with Brian Hoyer calling the plays. Actually, don’t tell them, it’s more fun this way.

Would someone please find a way to restructure the playoffs? Currently every team in the NFC South has more losses than wins. It’s not far fetched to think that the winner of that division might finish with a record of 7–9. How they get to host a playoff game and a team with a better record will not make the playoffs is beyond me. Sure, guarantee the division winner a playoff spot, but make all seeding based on records and nothing else. Imagine the Broncos and Chiefs both getting a bye-week?
