Lorelai and Rory agree to attend four different Thanksgiving dinners. Besides the Thanksgiving dinner with Lorelai’s parents, they visit Lane and her mom, Sooki and Jackson, and Luke’s Diner. They spend a little time bonding with each of their friends at each visit. They also run into their friend Kirk.

Food

When Lorelai and Rory realize they’ve agreed to attend four different dinners, Rory thinks it might be too much food. Lorelai insists that it’s not too much for them, saying, “It’s not too much food. This is what we’ve been training for our whole lives. This is our destiny, this is our finest hour.” Rory suggests they consider not eating the night before. Lorelai quickly says, “Not necessary.”

Lorelai picks up chocolate turkeys to bring to everyone as gifts.

Mrs. Kim serves tofurkey at her dinner.

Jackson deep-fries his turkey. Then he and his friends start deep-frying all the food they can find.

At the end of the episode, Lorelai and Rory realize that they didn’t eat dinner at Lorelai’s parents because of a fight they had, so they didn’t have to skip rolls at each dinner in order to get through the night. Upon realizing this, they ask Luke if he has any rolls left.

History

When Jess asks what they have to be thankful for, Luke says to be thankful that, “We’re not Native Americans who got their land stolen in exchange for smallpox infested blankets.”
