Mistletoe

Damon Salvatore hangs mistletoe in the door when Elena Gilbert comes to visit. However, they don’t kiss since Kai Parker has cast a cloaking spell over Elena and Damon doesn’t see her.

Secret Santa

Caroline Forbes complains that it was a mistake to let the boys join in on Secret Santa because they’re not good at giving thoughtful gifts. She doesn’t like the Mystic Falls snowglobe that Stefan Salvatore got for her.

Christmas Decorations

Stefan comes over to help with Christmas decorations. Caroline confronts him about why he’d show up after being a bad fried. She tells him, “This is the easy part. We’re hanging Christmas lights. Anyone can be friends while hanging Christmas lights.”

I’ll Be Home for Christmas

A flashback establishes how much Bonnie Bennett hates being away from her friends on Christmas. We see Elena and Bonnie making popcorn chains as Bonnie complains about the idea of her dad taking her away on a business trip.

In the present, she’s forced to decorate a tree in an empty parking lot. Elena and Caroline wonder if Bonnie knows that it’s Christmas. They hope for her sake that she doesn’t know, since she hates being away from them. Bonnie ends up getting so upset that she burns her tree.

Meanwhile, Caroline assumes that she won’t be celebrating Christmas since a spell is preventing her from returning home. But, instead, her mom brings Christmas to her.
