Next stop on the biopic express: Stephen Hawking. “The Theory of Everything” is set to be released on November 7. The film was directed by Academy Award-winning documentarian James Marsh (“Man on Wire”) and stars Eddie Redmayne as Hawking and Felicity Jones as his wife, Jane.

Naturally, there’s not too much to be gleaned about the quality of the overall film from the trailer, but one thing is certain: Redmayne has got Stephen Hawking’s person down. A relative no-name here in the states, you may remember the young British actor from turns in Les Miserables, The Good Shepherd, and My Week with Marilyn.
If the film reaches its potential, it could mean Redmayne is joining his director as an Oscar winner. The role contains two criteria that Academy voters eat up: a drastic physical transformation and the portrayal of a real person. Last year alone, seven actors and two actresses were nominated for playing real people, or characters based strongly on real people.
