Here at Pop Culture Spin we refuse to accept that Halloween is only one day. We’re going to be celebrating Halloween all month, by highlighting one of our favorite Halloween episodes every day. Today’s we’re looking at the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode “Who Got Dee Pregnant?”

Basic Info

Directed by: Randall Einhorn

Written by: Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney

Episode Number: Season 6, Episode 7

Where to Watch It: Netflix

Why It’s Great

The guys are all set to spend the night at a museum. Dee can’t believe they seem to actually believe things in a museum will come to life. The guys lash out and tell Dee they don’t care about her pregnancy, so she messes with them by claiming that one of them is the one who got her pregnant at a Halloween party. All of them were too drunk to fully remember the party and they spend their whole night trying to piece it together.

They end up mistakenly believing the father is Dennis and are rightfully pretty freaked out.

This is a hilarious episode full of amazing gags like the progression of Dee becoming more and more bird-like in each flashback until she’s entirely replaced with an actual ostrich.

Why It’s Full of Halloween Episode

This episode completely embraces the sleazy slide of Halloween. “We agreed on funny over sexy to disarm the ladies.”

There are lots of confused, regrettable hook ups as a result of everyone being drunk and costumed. As Charlie puts it when he’s desperate to ditch his costume, “Do you have any idea what it’s like to be this sexy?”

Costume Count

Dennis – Luigi

Mac – Viggo Mortensen from Lord of the Rings (he calls him Viggio Morgenstein)

Charlie – the Phantom of the Opera (it’s supposed to be a vampire)

Dee – an angel

Artemis – a nun

Frank – Man-Spider (not to be confused with Spider-Man)

Margaret McPoyle – the devil
