Christmas Special

Todd convinces BoJack to watch the Horsin’ Around Christmas special “Sabrina’s Christmas Wish with him. BoJack says he normally skips the Christmas episodes because they’re cynical cashgrabs, but Todd convinces him.

Christmas Miracle

In the special, Sabrina asks for Santa to bring her parents back to life. She receives a letter explaining that although her parents can’t be with her on Christmas, they’re watching her from Heaven. At the end of the episode, The Horse, Olivia and Ethan realize that none of them wrote the letter and you hear a mysterious “ho ho ho” noise from above.

Todd and BoJack discuss their confusion about the ending. Todd asks, “So, the letter was actually from her parents?” BoJack says, “I think it was from Santa.” Todd asks, “So, in the universe of this show, there is a Santa?” BoJack says, “I don’t know. We were all on cocaine.”

Christmas Songs

The episode ends with an original song by Grouplove. Todd also sings his own version of “Joy to the World” with the lyrics, “Joy to the world, Todd is here. He drank up all your beer.”

Do They Even Know It’s Christmas

Sabrina has no idea what Christmas is and has never heard of Santa after spending her whole life in an orphanage.

Found Family

Early in the episode, Todd asks BoJack if he hates Christmas specials because “the themes of family and togetherness are a chilling reminder of your own isolation.”

After watching the episode, BoJack has warmed up to the day enough that he suggests he and Todd watch the eight other Horsin’ Around Christmas specials together.
