We’re counting down to Valentine’s Day by looking at 14 different Valentine’s Day episodes from a variety of shows. Today we’re looking at “Valentine’s Day” from The Office. Let’s take a look at this episode by going over its five most romantic pairings.
1. Phyllis & Bob Vance
Phyllis is seeing Bob Vance and he showers Phyllis with gifts throughout the episode, making all the other women in the office jealous. As Pam says, “I had to sit here all day while Phyllis got, like, an entire garden delivered to her.”
2. Michael & Jan
Michael stands up for Jan when one of his co-workers calls her a bitch. Later, he messes up by telling the CFO of the company that he hooked up with his boss Jan. But, he covers for her by telling him that it was just a joke. Jan ends up surprising him by kissing him in the elevator as he’s leaving.
3. Dwight & Angela
Dwight loves the bobblehead version of himself that Angela gets him and he puts a lot of thought into what he should get her and even consults with Pam. His instinct is to get her a ham. Dwight explains, “Women are like wolves. If you want a wolf, you have to trap it. You have to snare it. And then you have to tame it. Keep it happy. Care for it. Feed it. Lovingly, the way an animal deserves to be loved. And my animal deserves a lot of loving.”
4. Jim & Pam
Pam’s fiance Roy doesn’t give her anything (except the promise of sex), but she fondly remembers the goofy gift Jim gave her the previous year.
5. Ryan & Kelly
Ryan isn’t great in this episode, but Kelly still thinks that they should ideally be together forever. It’s, uh, nice that she’s so enthusiastic in spite of everything.
