LeBron James: Journey To The Ring

LeBron James has come a long way from his days at St. Vincent-St. Mary where he was a USA Today All-USA first team prep player for three straight years, which had never been done before or since. That includes being the only sophomore to be chosen for the prestigious prep basketball squad.

James earned Ohio’s Mr. Basketball and state titles multiple times and even tried to enter the NBA Draft after his junior season. It didn’t happen that way, of course, but after his senior season, LeBron fulfilled his dream and entered the NBA, becoming the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft by his hometown NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The first four minutes of the below video, an excellent conglomeration of highlights and interviews, shows how advanced and really good LeBron James was as a high school phenom. His court vision was ridiculous! In any case, the video goes on to highlight LeBron’s NBA career all the way up to the Miami Heat’s NBA Finals victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. So, sit back and enjoy the journey, which is just a little over 24 minutes long.

By the way, there’s something very cool in the video that I’ve never seen before, but check the video first and get back at me:

I read that LeBron James and Kevin Durant had trained together during the 2011 NBA offseason, but never saw footage of it. As you probably just saw, proof of the two mega-superstars working on getting better together. Just a cool thing to see. But, the whole video is cool, love LeBron or not, the man earned every accolade thrown his way.

Now, all he needs is at least five more rings and the argument for Greatest Of All Time can begin.
