Los Angeles Lakers And Time Warner Cable Commercial

I’m not a Los Angeles Lakers fan at all, and as a Brooklyn Nets fan, I should probably hate them since they ended up with Dwight Howard, but I don’t. However, I’m in the minority of Nets fans that didn’t care about Howard after he opted-in with the Orlando Magic. In spite of it all, I have to admit that I’m digging the new commercial for Lakers games by Time Warner Cable, whom the team signed a deal with earlier this year for exclusive broadcast rights. From Lakers Nation:

A lot of talk has been going around lately surrounding the Lakers and their new broadcasting partner Time Warner Cable, who will be creating two exclusive Lakers channels for the upcoming season and beyond.

In order to begin to hype up their audience for the upcoming season on both Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, they have begun to release several commercials for their new, Laker-centric channels.

The first commercial follows:

I’m a sucker for the retro blurry and grainy look, as well as seeing quick flashes of imagery, so this video is in my wheelhouse. Keeping the theme of the commercial as “beyond/off the court” is a great strategy because of their amazing offseason when they’ve basically been christened as NBA championship contenders or, at least, favorites in the west. Looking forward to the other commercials to come.
