Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol will miss at least the next week with a strained right groin.
The spiraling Lakers announced their latest injury setback on Saturday after an MRI exam for the 7-foot Spaniard.
He will be re-evaluated next weekend after the Lakers’ three-game road trip.
Gasol scored 24 points in the Lakers’ 110-100 home loss to Charlotte on Friday night, their sixth straight defeat. He has been bothered by a sore groin for several games, but attempted to play through it. Associated Press
Gasol is averaging 17.0 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 3.4 APG. The Lakers are not going to be too upset about his loss since this improves their chances in the draft lottery. – AL
