Joe Dumars is staying quiet.

Detroit’s president of basketball operations and Hall of Famer player declined to be interviewed Friday night before the Bad Boys were celebrated.

Dumars did not address the crowd when the 1989 NBA champions were honored at halftime of a game against the Miami Heat. His job seems to be in jeopardy with the franchise likely to miss the playoffs for a fifth straight year. Yahoo Sports

Joe Dumars is in hot water after putting together one of the more enigmatic rosters in recent NBA history. Josh Smith in particular has been abysmal with his horrendous shooting, and inconsistent efforts on both sides of the court. The Pistons have had four coaches in five years, and are heading to the draft lottery for the fifth consecutive season with minute cap room.

It would be understandable if Dumars got another season to set things right, but few would argue against the organization taking a different direction during the offseason. – AL
