Wiggins, Embiid, and Parker will not participate in draft combine

Guard Andrew Wiggins has joined center Joel Embiid and forward Jabari Parker and decided not to participate in this week’s NBA draft combine, sources told ESPN.com.

Duke’s Parker and Kansas’ Wiggins and Embiid are considered the top three prospects in this year’s draft.

Kentucky forward Julius Randle and Australian guard Dante Exum — both projected high lottery picks — are expected to attend this year’s combine, which will be held Thursday and Friday in Chicago. ESPN

Wiggins, Embiid, and Parker are guaranteed the top three spots in the 2014 draft unless some mythical hero of legend springs to life from a comic book. Spoiler alert: that’s not happening.

Here’s a fan alert: Several narratives about the laziness of Wiggins, Embiid and Parker are already in the works. Jadevon Clowney just went through this process in the media, and was still drafted number one in the draft because scout’s couldn’t stop drooling over his potential.

Teams have already made it clear that these guys are going in the top five at the very latest. There’s no reason to participate in workouts that are not mandatory. I wouldn’t either in their position. – AL
