What’s better than having Madonna, Pharrell, Lorde, and Iggy Azalea perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show? Having the man who’s parodied them all perform, that’s what!
There’s an honest-to-goodness real petition on change.org (that you can sign here) to get Weird Al, the man who’s album Mandatory Fun recently topped the Billboard Hot 200 charts, elected as next year’s Halftime Show headliner.
Can such an endeavor actually make the NFL take this idea into serious consideration? As of this morning, the petition has already reached 50,000 signatures, so let’s consider this: if this many people are already clamoring to watch the halftime show for a game that’s a good six months away, where we don’t even know which teams will be playing, well, that’s something that major advertisers (you know, the ones who pay MILLIONS of dollars in between the game and the halftime show to get your attention) might be very interested in knowing.
Plus, wouldn’t a “Tacky” flash mob of Weird Al dancers be fun to watch at halftime?
