Alfonso Ribeiro in the below video talks about being pigeon-holed into just being Carlton, his character on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Even before he put on that fancy prep gear, Ribeiro was known for being an excellent dancer, having appeared in a Pepsi commercial with Michael Jackson, as well as dancing on Broadway. His resume was impressive for someone so young. But, like most stars that find fame in their youth, adulthood wasn’t always easy, particularly when show business is your life and that life gives and takes away in unequal measure; yes, mostly the latter.
However, Ribeiro is feeling a revival of sorts on this season’s Dancing with the Stars, and it’s great to see, having been a fan of his back in the day. This week, he dedicated his performance to the fans and gave them what they/we wanted – The Carlton.
