The NFL has fired an employee who sold the footballs used in the Deflategate scandal. Usually game-used balls are taken by the league employees and sold with proceeds going to various charities. In this particular instance the balls were sold by the employee outside of the usual process, or “on the side”.  In my research the name of the employee has yet to be release.  No word yet on who purchased the balls, or if they were inflated back up to league standards before the sale was complete. When has there ever been so much debate over air?
