Opinion: Nike KD7 Weatherman is ‘Wild, Unusual’

The Nike KD7 Weatherman is one of those shoes I that made me want to hoop in them when I first saw them. They look like sheer performance, stability and innovation all at once. The Flywire used in the front and the Hyperposite material used in the back, as well as the strap across the middle part of the foot, make it look like no other performance shoe right now. The upcoming Weatherman colorway is as unusual as the other colorways we’ve seen the KD7 in.

Let’s start with the doppler radar inspired graphics on the back part and the details. It looks weird at first, but the more you look at it, the more it suits the shoe well. It matches the Flywire perfectly. So everything was nice, until they decide to make the strap orange —  NEON ORANGE!! I understand that a contrast color can look good, but in my opinion they went a little bit too wild on the Weatherman. Oh, and did I mention that the laces are neon orange AND neon yellow?

A slight tone-down, and the Weatherman is perfection — but it’s pretty close already.
