Opinion: Nike Basketball Easter Collection is ‘versatile’, ‘bubblegum’

It’s almost Easter, which means that a bunch of Nike Basketball performance shoes in bubblegum colors are coming at us. This year, the 2015 Collection, the Nike Kobe X, Nike LeBron 12, Nike KD7 and Nike Kyrie 1 are all getting the Easter treatment. Let’s start with the Kobe X.

This year’s Kobe “Easter” is going to be the only shoe in the collection that forgoes bright and shiny colors. Even though the tongue and laces come in a very light teal, it’s not a shiny neon color as and the colorway is more toned down in comparison to the other three pairs.

The LeBron “Easter” has a grey-ish blue base and neon orange details. All in all, I like the colorway and the black Hyperposite part makes the pink details pop without mixing it with flashy color. The details and colors give one another space to take effect.

The loudest sneaker is the KD7 “Easter”. It’s all about that neon life and the Easter camo pattern comes back in neon colors. I don’t feel that at all, but I often don’t feel colors in general, so my opinion is just an opinion. The last shoe in the “Easter Collection” is the Kyrie 1.

I don’t like the Kyrie 1’s silhouette in general, which makes it hard for me to appreciate this one. I have to admit that I like the berry color and the combination with the light teal. The neon orange added is too much for me.

All in all I think that this year’s Easter collection is versatile and that everybody should find a pair he (or she) appreciates the most.
