14 Days of Valentine’s Day Episodes: Put Your Head on My Shoulder (Futurama)

We’re counting down to Valentine’s Day by looking at 14 different Valentine’s Day episodes from a variety of shows. Today we’re looking at “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” from Futurama. Let’s take a look at this episode by going over its five most romantic pairings.

1. Fry & Leelah

Early on, Fry suggests that since neither of them has a Valentine’s Day date, they do something together. Leelah is offended that he assumes she doesn’t have a date. Later, when Fry gets together with Amy instead, Leelah is noticeably jealous. An accident leaves Fry’s head grafted to Amy’s body. That puts him terrified that when Amy goes home with her date, he’ll have to be there for everything. Leelah swoops in and saves the day by distracting Amy’s date and pretending to be interested in his job.

2. Fry & Amy

Fry and Amy had never thought about each other romantically before, but getting stuck on Mars with no fuel was just what they needed to really notice each other. Even though Fry gets weird and accuses Amy of smothering him, they’re actually a pretty adorable couple, as far as flings go. I mean, any girl who’s still into you after you complain about your parents always bugging you to “groom myself and wear underwear” is a keeper.

3. Petunia & Sal

It’s love at first sight for these two. When Petunia finds out that Sal is driving the very bus she needs to board, that’s all it takes for them to embrace each other and kiss.

4. Amy & Gary

These two are super into each other. Amy is very DTF. Gary clearly likes her, but he likes talking about business regulations just a little bit more.

5. Fry & Petunia

Fry did his best to treat her right, but she’s right. She can do better than a slots player.
