Lionel Richie surely didn’t know it at the time, but they misspelled his name on the screen when he got up to the podium to accept his Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards last night. Maybe the blind student from his “Hello” video sculpture class typed that it? Maybe a disgruntled Commodore member snuck into the control room.
All I know now is that I totally understand why people release self-titled albums. It must be to guarantee that people learn how to spell your name. Oh wait, look at that…nevermind. Well, congratulations anyway, Leon Ricci!
