James Corden to Officially Preside Over “The Late Late Show” on CBS

CBS officially put a ring on it and has made British actor-comedian James Corden (soon to be seen in the big-screen version of Into the Woods) the official host of The Late Late Show. His start date is currently TBD, but we do know that Craig Ferguson will be vacating the desk in December, so it’s logical to presume Corden would premiere some time around/after March Madness.

And what’s to become of our dear Craig Ferguson? I’ve already started seeing commercials for his upcoming syndicated game show, Celebrity Name Game, which yes, includes celebrity guest panelists, and seems similar to NBC’s Hollywood Game Night hosted by Jane Lynch (although that’s not necessarily a bad thing). I’m all for more quality game shows featuring tons of celebrities. I was always a big fan of Hollywood Squares and the Family Feud episodes that featured the leading casts from popular television shows. And Craig Ferguson definitely has the cheeky bravado that an entertaining game show host should possess (think Richard Dawson) in order to keep the viewers tuning in.
