It is a proven fact that no one cares about the fantasy football team of someone else. However, I would love to point out that I am now 3-0 in the Baller Mind Frame fantasy football league.
Last week was another set of NFL picks spoiled by odds makers who are clearly jumping through time. The New Orleans Saints got a win by .5, while the Browns lost by .5 on a last-second field goal. If that is not evidence of time travel then I am not sure what is.
I foolishly took the New England Patriots to cover a 14.5-point spread over the lowly Raiders, who almost took the game to overtime. Unless a team is playing the Jacksonville Jaguars, which the San Diego Chargers are doing this week, I tend to veer away from taking a double-digit spread, which the Chargers have this week. So go Chargers, go!
I keep saying that the picks will get easier as the weeks go on, but there are still tough choices this week. The 1-2 San Francisco 49ers are five-point favorites over the 3-0 Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles seem like a safe choice, but the fortune-telling oddsmakers clearly think know otherwise.
What is becoming sure as the weeks go on is that football is slowly becoming the focus as opposed to the embarrassing actions of Roger Goodell and the entire Baltimore Ravens organization.
Bill Simmons was just suspended for calling out Goodell and the NFL, so I hope I do not suffer the same fate for my lewd attack on the inept commissioner. The same Roger Goodell who was portrayed as a robot on Wednesday’s episode of South Park, which perfectly depicted the ridiculous fight to keep the Washington Redskins name while also playing soundbites from Goodell’s almost comical (if not for the reasoning behind it) recent press conference.
But enough about accurate depictions of a man who is clearly full of delusions. To the picks!
