Saucony has been putting out well-looking and good-quality retro runner models, making it hard to ignore them. Known for their running performance shoes, they attacked the lifestyle segment with their former models playing the ‘revival of the retros’ game, how every other brand is doing. The important thing about this is, that the Saucony designs are different and one of a kind, yet coherent in their development. They stick to running shoes, because that’s what they do, very well.
The Saucony Originals G9 Shadow 6 Mint Chocolate Chip, which was teased as part of the G9 Scoops Pack, has a mint suede upper and black details. Nothing which wasn’t done before, but it still looks good and not boring or like the copycat of the copycat. The color actually seems to be a dusky mint. It seems to be slightly faded. The silhouette in combination with the color, is perfect for summer, without looking corny. The gum sole puts an added accent, without giving too much contrast. I am excited to see this shoe in person and I’m looking forward to the reveal of the second pair of the Saucony Originals G9 Scoops Pack.
