The Wall Street Journal studied grammar on the fan boards of various NFL teams. It turns out that the fans of the Washington Redskins commit more grammatical errors than any other team after analyzing 400 different types of spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes.

“[The program] reviewed 150 reader comments that were at least 50 words long from the news section of each NFL team website (12,728 total words, on average, per team). The Redskins finished dead last with 16.5 mistakes per 100 words — roughly 30% worse than New Orleans Saints fans, the NFL’s second most typo-prone fan base.”

On the flip side the leagues’ best team for grammar was the Detroit Lions, whose fans had a mere 4.2 mistakes per 100 words. I guess that number was to be expected as there are far fewer grammatical rules when it comes to expletives.
