Brian Scalabrine To Join Chicago Bulls Coaching Staff

According to a source, the Chicago Bulls’ Brian Scalabrine will join the Chicago Bulls coaching staff. The 11-year NBA veteran who won the hearts of fans, players, and staff wherever he went looks like he’ll continue to do what he does best – cheer and coach from the pine, but this time in a suit as opposed to a uni.

Scalabrine may seem like a joke, but let’s be honest, you don’t get a paycheck from an NBA team for over a decade if you’re a joke. Sure, “Veal” played along with the fans, which was one of his more endearing qualities, but somehow, someway Scalabrine affected the game. Even if it was just to pick up the spirits of an otherwise listless crowd.

It looks like Scal is going to be a great asset on the bench as a coach for head coach Tom Thibodeau if all that’s been said of Brian Scalabrine is any indicator. For example, check what NBA MVP and wunderkind Derrick Rose had to say about Scal some time ago:

“He’s the other coach on the floor,” guard Derrick Rose said. “When Thibs doesn’t know, like, what to run, Scal’s always in his ear. If we don’t know what to run, Scal is always helping me and the other point guards, telling us where to go.”

Good luck, Veal!
