Simon Pegg and Robin Williams in ‘Absolutely Anything’ Trailer

What do you get when Terry Jones, Robin Williams, Kate Beckinsale, and Simon Pegg team up for a film? Absolutely Anything. This Sci-Fi Comedy tells the tale of a group of eccentric aliens that give one human being the power to do anything he wants as an experiment to see if humans are corrupted by absolute power.

The concept could’ve made for a dark film, but from the director of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and The Meaning of Life, we get a smart Comedy. The cast is absolutely fantastic, and very fitting for the style of Jones as well. Pegg plays Neil Clarke, an average guy that’s granted these powers to do whatever he pleases. From the trailer, he’s bound to make a mistake or two.

Although the trailer makes it look like it’ll just be a slightly better version of Bruce Almighty, it could be much better looking at the talent involved. Then again, this is the first film Terry Jones has directed in 19 years, so we’ll see if he has any rust to shake off. If he does, hopefully he shakes it off in the first 10 minutes or so of the film. This is also the first time in nearly 2 decades that the surviving members of the Monty Python will be together again, and it just might be the last time. To top it all off, this is Robin Williams’ final project.

There is no U.S. release date yet, but it does hit the UK on August 14, 2015.
