Week 11 NFL Fantasy Cheat Sheet

Running Backs

Top Picks – guys you HAVE to start if you have them

  1. Saquon Barkley vs. Tampa Bay – Tampa has been bad against running backs, and really bad about pass-catching running backs.  Barkley may not be the best on the ground, but he is super elite catching the ball.
  2. Todd Gurley vs. Kansas City – The Chiefs are not great on defense period.  With that said their offense is scary good, which means the Rams are going to try and run the ball to control the clock, and that means a lot of Gurley.
  3. Ezekiel Elliott vs. Atlanta – The Falcons gave up over 200 rushing yards to the Browns.  Elliott just put up over 150 yards against the Eagles, and their 2nd ranked rush defense in the league.

Players to watch – players worth picking up if you didn’t already

  1. Javorius Allen vs. Cincinnati – Allen got a lot of work last week, seeming to be the RB1 in Baltimore.  With Joe Flacco at least banged up (more on that later), it could mean the team leans on the run game.  Allen could be in for a huge game, or be running into a brick wall if the Bengals force the Ravens to pass.
  2. David Johnson vs. Oakland – Johnson looked a lot better last week, but I’m still not sold on him for the rest of the season.  If there is a game set up for big numbers though it’s the Raiders.

Players to avoid – I’d rather not start these guys if I can avoid it

  1. Theo Riddick vs. Carolina – Riddick has seen good usage, but that’s when Johnson and Blount are out.  Both are in, and Carolina plays the run well.
  2. Tevin Coleman vs. Dallas – Dallas plays the run really well, and with a full complement of backs in the mix Coleman may not get great numbers.

Draft King Bargains – decent matchups you can pick up on the cheap

  1. Dion Lewis vs. Indianapolis ($4,800) – In an effort to play ball control the Titans will be feeding the rock on the regular to their backs.  Lewis stacks up to have a big day.
  2. Mark Ingram vs. Philadelphia ($4,700) – The Saints will look to replicate the success the Cowboys had, so pounding the rock seems like a good idea, especially in the later stages of the game.  Ingram also figures to get the goal line work.

Wide Receivers

Top Picks – guys you HAVE to start if you have them

  1. Tyreek Hill vs. Los Angeles Rams – The Rams haven’t looked good on the outside, but a speedster like Hill will get his touches in a multitude of ways and look to exploit the gaps on the back end.
  2. Michael Thomas vs. Philadelphia – The Eagles are banged up in the secondary, and Thomas is a beast.  It looks good for the Saints in this one.
  3. Julio Jones vs. Dallas – Dallas has a better than average defense, but Jones is a much better than average receiver.  Given how stout the line is the Falcons figure to pass a lot and Jones is going to be the key target.

Players to watch – players worth keeping an eye on

  1. Amari Cooper vs. Atlanta – Cooper has seen steady targets since the trade, and the Falcons are very weak on the back end. This stacks up for big potential for the newly minted Cowboy.
  2. Larry Fitzgerald vs. Oakland – Fitz is still getting a great amount of targets, and the Raiders don’t have any backs. This could be a big day for the old guy.

Players to avoid – I’d rather not start these guys if I can avoid it

  1. Stefon Diggs vs. Chicago – Diggs may not even play, but if he does he likely won’t be 100% and is going up against a tough defense.
  2. Emmanuel Sanders vs. Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers have a good defense, and Sanders hasn’t been a top target with Keenum just yet.

Draft King Bargains – decent matchups you can pick up on the cheap

  1. T.Y. Hilton vs. Tennessee ($6,100) – The Colts are going to look to push the pace, and the Titans are a little more suspect on the back end.  If the Colts are going to win it’s going to be with players like Hilton.
  2. Amari Cooper vs. Atlanta ($5,400) – He’s priced too cheap to not take a look at him given the match-up this week.

Quarter Backs

Top Picks – guys you HAVE to start if you have them

  1. Patrick Mahomes vs. Los Angeles Rams – This is kind of an all or nothing play, as I still feel like the young Mahomes is due for a blowup game, and the Rams could be it.  If the game goes as scripted it’s going to be tons of points on both sides.
  2. Jared Goff vs. Kansas City – Speaking of both sides Goff figures to have a big game against the sad excuse for the Kansas City defense.
  3. Cam Newton vs. Detroit – The Panthers were pathetic last week, but they get a much nicer match up this week with a lot of time to prep.  Newton figures to have a great shot to stack some stats.

Players to watch – players worth keeping an eye on

  1. Lamar Jackson vs. Cincinnati – Flacco might be out.  If he is, Jackson gets his first start in the NFL.
  2. Dak Prescott vs. Atlanta – Prescott has looked more consistent with the arrival of Cooper.  Atlanta is not great on the back end, so this could work well for Dak.

Players to avoid – I’d rather not start these guys if I can avoid it

  1. Blake Bortles vs. Pittsburgh – Pittsburgh had a long week to prep, and they smothered Newton and the Panthers.  Bortles isn’t that good, and with Fournette back the team is going to try and run.
  2. Case Keenum vs. Chicago – He’s not doing great in Denver, and they get an unfortunate draw with Chicago having a good defense.  It doesn’t stack up well for Case.

Draft King Bargains – decent matchups you can pick up on the cheap

  1. Marcus Mariota vs. Indianapolis ($5,500) – In a game where Luck could go off for multiple touchdowns, Mariota could need to pass to keep pace.  He’s cheap enough to look at.
  2. Deshaun Watson vs. Washington ($5,700) – Washington isn’t a great match up, but the Texans are coming off a bye week, and the real place to exploit the team is on the back end.
  3. Lamar Jackson vs. Cincinnati ($4,700) – This only works if he starts.  If he starts this is too cheap not to do.

Tight Ends

Top Picks – guys you HAVE to start if you have them

  1. Greg Olsen vs. Detroit – This is where Olsen can earn his entire salary as the Lions don’t cover TE’s well, and the Panthers will look to move the ball down the field methodically, which does lean on Olsen, and maybe McCafferey.
  2. Travis Kelce vs. Los Angeles Rams – Quick!  Name me the Rams linebackers and safeties…Yeah, I can’t either.  Kelce figures to have a big day.
  3. Zach Ertz vs. New Orleans –  Did you see what this guy did to Dallas?  Dallas is a better defense than the Saints.

Players to watch – players worth keeping an eye on

  1. Ricky Seals-Jones vs. Oakland – He’s seeing a lot more targets and Oakland is not great at covering anyone.
  2. James O’Shaughnessy vs. Pittsburgh – In a game where Bortles won’t have time to throw deep short passes to players like the TE will be a staple.

Players to avoid – I’d rather not start these guys if I can avoid it

  1. Eric Ebron vs. Tennessee – The other TE is back in the mix, and that means that Ebron is not going to get as many targets.
  2. Jonnu Smith vs. Indianapolis – Smith is also not seeing as many targets as he has at other times.

Draft King Bargains – decent matchups you can pick up on the cheap

  1. Eric Ebron vs. Tennessee ($4,300) – Even with less targets he’s priced SUPER cheap this week.
  2. Evan Engram vs. Tampa Bay ($4,100) – Tampa can’t cover anyone, and Engram is priced well considering the match-up.

Defenses

Top Picks – teams you HAVE to start if you have them

  1. Arizona vs. Oakland – This could explode, but given what I’ve seen from Oakland I feel pretty good about this match-up.
  2. Carolina vs. Detroit – Detroit has looked bad since trading away Tate, and the Panthers normally have a good defense (please ignore last week)
  3. Pittsburgh vs. Jacksonville – Did you see what the Steelers did against the Panthers?  The Jaguars are not even in the same area code.

Teams to watch – teams worth keeping an eye on

  1. New York Giants vs. Tampa Bay – The Bucs have been turnover machines.  The Giants did trade away all the defensive players, but this could be an interesting play.
  2. Los Angeles Rams vs. Kansas City – So the Chiefs figure to put up huge points, but assuming Mahommes looks human the Rams could put get good sack and interception numbers.

Teams to avoid – I’d rather not start these guys if I can avoid it

  1. Los Angeles Rams vs. Kansas City – I’m not going to assume Mahomes has a bad game, avoid anyone playing the Chiefs.
  2. Kansas City vs. Los Angeles Rams – The Rams are too good on offense, and the Chiefs were not good to begin with.

Draft King Bargains – decent matchups you can pick up on the cheap

  1. Cincinnati vs. Baltimore ($2,400) – Regardless of who is playing QB the Bengals are good enough on defense that they can put up points against the Ravens.
  2. Carolina vs. Detroit ($2,800) – They are priced too cheap for the match-up.
