[dropcap]P[/dropcap]laybill reports today that Lindsay Lohan, who used to be more famous for her on-screen roles than her off-screen antics, will be making her stage debut this fall.

Unfortunately, her first foray in the theater world will NOT be in a musical version of Mean Girls (which is TOTALLY HAPPENING, PEOPLE!). Instead, she will be making her debut in a revival of David Mamet’s Speed the Plow, as “Karen,” notable as this same role and play marked Madonna’s Broadway debut back in 1988.

Lohan has most recently been seen (or largely ignored, depends on who you ask) onscreen in Paul Schrader’s The Canyons, on television in her own docu-series on the OWN network, and on the front page of most daily online tabloids.
