[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ere’s a dreamy new tune from The Shins, “So Now What,” from the Wish I Was Here soundtrack (a.k.a. That Zach Braff Kickstarter-funded movie that you can’t wait/don’t care to see).
In an interview with NPR Braff revealed that he approached James Mercer from The Shins directly to see if he would write an original song for the soundtrack. This is notable since, as some may recall, a large spotlight was cast on The Shins after the movie Garden State, where one of their songs, “New Slang,” was featured prominently in the film (the song that Natalie Portman’s character says will “Change your life, I swear“).
Wish I Was Here , starring Zach Braff, Kate Hudson, Josh Gad, and Mandy Patinkin is in theaters on July 18.
