Seth tells Ryan that Chrismukkah is a product of being raised by his parents. He explains that he wanted to combine traditions from both “my father, the struggling Jew from the Bronx… and my mother, Waspy McWasp.”

Christmas Miracle
Seth is dating both Summer and Anna. He refuses to choose. Ryan can see that this will end badly and tells him, “You better pray for a Chrismukkah miracle.” Seth tells him, “I’ve got Jesus and Moses on my side, man.”
Later, Ryan tells Seth that his holiday was lousy. Marissa got drunk, they got pulled over and almost got in serious trouble before the cop decided to let them off with a warning. Seth points out that this is actually a Chrismukkah miracle– in the past, Ryan would’ve gotten taken in, but instead he was able to go with just a warning.
The Grinch
Marissa suggests to her father that they relieve some of the pressure of his being unemployed by skipping Christmas. Her father brushes off the suggestion, calling her a Grinch.
Marissa is able to bond with Ryan, who’s also not a fan of the holidays. She tells him, “I hate Christmas.” He tells her, “Well, Chrismukkah ain’t much better.”
Later, Ryan says, “Drinking, crying, cops. Well, it must be Christmas.”
